MajorMind is a study app for university students: a private AI teacher, study rooms with voice, and (soon) quizzes. This page explains, in simple words, what data we collect, why, and what you can do about it.
1. Who we are
MajorMind is built in Morocco by an independent founder. For any question about your data, write to privacy@majormind.app.
2. What we collect
- Your account: email address, password (stored encrypted by our login provider, we never see it), username, display name and, if you give it, your birthday.
- Your conversations with your private AI teacher: your questions and the teacher's answers, so the teacher remembers the conversation.
- Study rooms: the rooms you create or join, and the messages written in the room chat (including the room teacher's answers).
- Voice in study rooms: your voice is sent live to the other people in the room. We do not record calls.
- Course material: course documents (PDFs) added by the MajorMind team, so the teacher can answer from your course.
- Technical data: basic server logs to keep the service working and secure. For the AI we only log numbers (for example how many words a question used), never the text of your questions.
3. Why we use it
- To run your account and let you log in.
- To answer your questions and remember your conversation.
- To run study rooms (voice, chat, the shared room teacher).
- To keep MajorMind safe (abuse prevention, usage limits) and to fix problems.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
4. Who can see what
- Your private teacher conversations are visible only to you. Other students cannot see them, and the room teacher never reads them.
- Room chat and the room teacher's answers are visible to the people in that room.
- Our database enforces these rules with row-level security.
5. Services we use
To run MajorMind we rely on a few trusted providers, who process data only to provide their service to us:
- Supabase: accounts, database and file storage.
- AI providers (today Microsoft Azure OpenAI; later possibly others, for example through OpenRouter): your question and the context needed to answer it are sent to the AI model to create the answer. We choose providers that do not use this data to train their models.
- LiveKit (our own server): carries the live audio of study rooms.
Some of these providers may store data outside Morocco.
6. How long we keep data
- Account and private conversations: as long as your account exists.
- Study rooms are temporary: when a room ends, it is deleted with its chat and the private teacher conversations you had inside that room.
- When you delete your account, your data is deleted.
7. Your rights
Under Moroccan law n° 09-08 on the protection of personal data, you can ask to access, correct or delete your data, and object to its use. Write to privacy@majormind.app. You can also contact the CNDP (Commission Nationale de contrôle de la protection des Données à caractère Personnel).
8. Security
Connections are encrypted, passwords are never stored in plain text, and access to data is limited by strict rules. No system is perfect, but we work to protect your data and will tell you if something serious happens.
9. Age
MajorMind is made for university students. If you are under 18, please use it with the permission of a parent or guardian.
10. Changes
MajorMind is in beta and this policy may change. We will update the date at the top and tell you in the app about important changes.
